چکیده

Reactive rules are used for programming rule-based, reactive systems, which have the ability to detect events and respond to them automatically in a timely manner. Such systems are needed on the Web for bridging the gap between the existing, passive Web, where data sources can only be accessed to obtain information, and the dynamic Web, where data sources are enriched with reactive behavior. This paper presents two possible approaches to programming rule-based, reactive systems. They are based on different kinds of reactive rules, namely Event-ConditionAction rules and production rules. Concrete reactive languages of both kinds are used to exemplify these programming paradigms. Finally the similarities and differences between these two paradigms are studied.

Development of a Combined System Based on Data Mining and Semantic Web for the Diagnosis of Autism

Introduction: Autism is a nervous system disorder, and since there is no direct diagnosis for it, data mining can help diagnose the disease. Ontology as a backbone of the semantic web, a knowledge database with shareability and reusability, can be a confirmation of the correctness of disease diagnosis systems. This study aimed to provide a system for diagnosing autistic children with a combinat...

Optimizing Membership Functions using Learning Automata for Fuzzy Association Rule Mining

The Transactions in web data often consist of quantitative data, suggesting that fuzzy set theory can be used to represent such data. The time spent by users on each web page is one type of web data, was regarded as a trapezoidal membership function (TMF) and can be used to evaluate user browsing behavior. The quality of mining fuzzy association rules depends on membership functions and since t...

Twelve Theses on Reactive Rules for the Web

Reactivity, the ability to detect and react to events, is an essential functionality in many information systems. In particular, Web systems such as online marketplaces, adaptive (e.g., recommender) systems, and Web services, react to events such as Web page updates or data posted to a server. This article investigates issues of relevance in designing high-level programming languages dedicated ...

Challenges for Rule Systems on the Web

The RuleML Challenge started in 2007 with the objective of inspiring the issues of implementation for management, integration, interoperation and interchange of rules in an open distributed environment, such as the Web. Rules are usually classified as three types: deductive rules, normative rules, and reactive rules. The reactive rules are further classified as ECA rules and production rules. T...
